Genealogijos, heraldikos ir veksilologijos institutas kartu su partneriais 2026 m. spalio 24 d. organizuoja VI tarptautinę mokslinę konferenciją „Alberto Vijūko-Kojalavičiaus skaitymai 2026“ (toliau – Konferencija / RAVK6), kuri skirta XVII a. jėzuitui, istorikui, heraldikos ir genealogijos tyrinėtojui Albertui Vijūkui-Kojalavičiui (1609–1677). Ši Konferencija tapo svarbia akademine platforma, vienijančia mokslininkus, ekspertus, tyrėjus ir praktikus analizuojančius genealogijos, heraldikos, veksilologijos, istorinės atminties ir kilmingųjų klausimus. Ankstesnių Konferencijų apžvalga prieinama čia: www.ghvi.lt/ravk.
Konferencijos tema ir tikslai
Konferencijos tema – „Žemaitijos ir kiti pasaulio kilmingieji: ryšiai, paveldas, tapatybė“ – kviečia tirti, kaip Žemaitijos bajorija, viena iš svarbiausių Lietuvos Didžiosios Kunigaikštystės socialinių grupių, formavo savo socialinį, kultūrinį, politinį ir tarptautinį tapatumą.
Pagrindiniai konferencijos tikslai:
• Įvardinti Žemaitijos bajorijos sąsajas su kitais Europos regionais;
• Aptarti genealoginius tinklus, giminystės ryšius ir jų reikšmę valdžios bei kultūros raidai;
• Analizuoti heraldikos ir veksilologijos paveldą kaip identiteto ženklus;
• Diskutuoti apie kilmingųjų kultūros tęstinumą šiuolaikinėse visuomenėse;
• Skatinti tarpdisciplininį požiūrį į kilmingųjų tyrimus įtraukiant istorikus, genealogus, antropologus, menotyrininkus, archyvarus, muziejininkus, kraštotyrininkus ir kitus specialistus.

The Institute of Genealogy, Heraldry and Vexillology, together with its partners, is organising the 6th International Scientific Conference “The Readings of Albertas Vijūkas-Kojalavičius 2026” (hereinafter referred to as the Conference or RAVK6), to be held on 24 October 2026. The event is dedicated to Albertas Vijūkas-Kojalavičius (1609–1677) – a 17th-century Jesuit, historian, and researcher of heraldry and genealogy. Over the years, this Conference has become an important academic platform uniting scholars, experts, researchers, and practitioners engaged in the study of genealogy, heraldry, vexillology, historical memory, and nobility. An overview of previous Conferences is available at: www.ghvi.lt/ravk.
Conference Theme and Objectives
The theme “Samogitian and Other World Nobility: Connections, Heritage, Identity” invites exploration of how the Samogitian nobility – one of the most significant social groups in the Grand Duchy of Lithuania – formed its social, cultural, political, and international identity.
Main objectives of the Conference:
To identify the connections between the Samogitian nobility and other European regions;
To discuss genealogical networks, kinship ties, and their significance for the development of power and culture;
To analyse heraldic and vexillological heritage as markers of identity;
To discuss the continuity of noble culture in contemporary societies;
To promote an interdisciplinary approach to studies of nobility by engaging historians, genealogists, anthropologists, art historians, archivists, museum professionals, local historians, and other specialists.

Genealogy and kinship of the Samogitian nobility;
Heraldry and heraldic symbolism in the Lithuanian and European contexts;
Vexillology: flags, emblems, insignia;
Cultural and political initiatives of the nobility in and beyond the Grand Duchy of Lithuania;
Research on archival sources and tangible heritage;
The role of the nobility in shaping regional and national identity;
Comparative studies of noble traditions in different countries;
Digital tools in genealogical, heraldic, and vexillological studies.

Organisational Information
Presentation duration: 20 minutes, followed by a 5-minute discussion.
Submission of abstracts: in Lithuanian and English, by 1 August 2026 to info@ghvi.lt.
The abstract should not exceed 400 words. Please include a brief biographical note (up to 100 words) with each submission.
Selection and confirmation of presentations: by 15 August 2026.
Submission of full papers: Final papers (maximum 20 pages, Word format, Times New Roman 12 pt) should be sent to info@ghvi.lt in the chosen Conference language by 1 October 2026.
Publication: Selected and peer-reviewed papers will be published in the journal Genealogija, heraldika ir veksilologija (Genealogy, Heraldry and Vexillology) in both print and electronic formats.

Presentation of the Works and Activities of Artists, Schools, and Organisations
During the conference, and at the discretion of the organisers, an opportunity may be provided to present the works, publications, educational initiatives, and activities of artists, heraldic creators, schools, organisations, and other contributors related to genealogy, heraldry, vexillology, the history of noble families, cultural heritage, and historical memory.
Individuals, schools, and organisations wishing to present or exhibit their works, publications, creative projects, or activities during the conference are required to contact the organisers in advance by e-mail at info@ghvi.lt and to provide brief information about the author, institution, or organisation, as well as the content of the proposed presentation or exhibition.
The decision regarding the possibility, scope, form, location, and duration of the presentation or exhibition of works and activities shall be made by the organisers, taking into account the conference programme, the possibilities of the venue, artistic quality, and thematic relevance to the aims and content of the conference.
